Fine Australian Wines
One of the features that sets us apart is offering rare Aussie wines among our products. Although Australian wine availability has gone up in recent years, high end wines are still hard to come by. You'll have an increasingly difficult experience finding a wine that has been held in a temperature controlled storage facility like those at Golden West. Australian wines are considered rarer in the United States as the distance traveled is farther than wines coming from Europe and shipping costs are higher.
Looking for something different? While Australian wines may be less renowned than Italian or French wines, Australia is known for producing excellent Chardonnay, Shiraz, Cabernet, Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc. However, if you're looking for direction, Australian Port wines are always an excellent choice that can be consumed before or anytime during a meal. It is particularly effective when partnered with dense, sweet confections. We also recommend Syrah, an intense and spicy wine which is similar to a Merlot.
Vintage French wines
With so many vineyards in France it's no surprise that it's fairly simple to find vintage wines from any French region you should choose. Many consider French wines the best in the world. Regardless of the type, it's hard to go wrong as long as you know what to consume it with. If you doubt the authenticity of any French wines check the label for "Appellation Controlee." When found the term verifies the wine is recognized officially by the French government for being made in a certain fashion in a specific area. While this does not make any guarantees about the wine's quality, it signifies the wine is genuine.
