A rare treat indeed, a large format double magnum of the wonderful Brunello from Marchesi Frescobaldi. Back vintages in these formats rarely come around - to our knowledge this is the only one available in the USA.

Frescobaldi's Castelgiocondo is one of the most consistent vineyards in Tuscany producing great value Brunellos with a history going back 700 years. The 1999 was made to last and is now opening up and showing its true class.

"This has wonderful aromas, with sweet berry and flowers on the nose, turning to raspberry and blueberry. Full-bodied, with soft, silky tannins and a delicate finish. The nose is amazing, and the palate beautiful. A joy to drink…full body and lots of raisin and spice character. Impressive, ripe tannins. Thick and powerful From one of the most serious producers in Montalcino now." Wine Spectator
