Bottle report: Excellent condition.

In 1982, Sir Peter Michael and Lady Michael bought 630 acres of volcanic ridges on the western face of Mount St. Helena in Knights Valley, following a long search for the finest terroir available in the Sonoma. They put in place a brilliant winemaking team to follow and build upon their ethos, which shines through, old world winemaking, new world terroir

"melted licorice, white chocolate, creme de cassis, licorice, and incense, the wine hits the palate with a silky opulence, and marvelous, full-bodied power, but it is light on its feet, with great delineation, vibrancy, and freshness. Superb purity and a finish that goes on for 50+ seconds is the stuff of modern-day California legends"

”Peter Michael Winery may be the best-run winery of its size for world-class quality..Having followed these wines for nearly two decades, they seem to go from strength to strength..." Robert Parker
