Schrader Cellars is as much a scientific exploration of grape varieties as it is creative brilliance and its vineyard parcels are planted with different high quality clones of Cabernet Sauvignon (4, 6, and 337), producing only around 1500 cases each vintage. Each clone, managed by Fred and Carol Schrader (and winemaker Thomas Brown), produces extraordinary quality Cabernets – among the finest in California. Schrader's LPV Beckstoffer Las Piedras 2012 was crafted using a blend of clones 4 and 337 - a provocative, exceptionally rich, and deeply compelling Cabernet.

"A very rich and dense red with blueberry and chocolate character. Full-bodied, very silky and refined. Wonderful depth and length. Held back and pretty. Elegance and beauty for a Schrader.” James Suckling

"…shows lots of charcoal, scorched earth and an almost Graves-on-steroids personality. Deep blueberry and blackberry fruit, a hint of coffee and chocolate are all present in this impressive, very different style of Cabernet Sauvignon from Schrader.” Robert Parker

"The Schraders, working with well-known winemaking consultant Thomas Rivers Brown, continue to farm and produce some of the world’s greatest Cabernet Sauvignons from three fabulous Beckstoffer-owned vineyards: the To Kalon Vineyard in Oakville, the Georges III Vineyard in Rutherford and the Las Piedras Vineyard in St. Helena.” Robert Parker
