Abreu Vineyard is owned by David Abreu, a native of Napa Valley who grew up in Rutherford, California in a family with farming interests. He grew up working in vineyards, and eventually founded the Madrona Ranch vineyard back in 1982. Since his first release in 1987, Abreu's wines have quickly wone worldwide acclaim. These wine are, in our opinion, some of the greatest being produced not only in the Napa but in the world today. Wines of great poise, balance and finesse.

“Massive, rich and deeply flavored, packed with complex currant, mineral, spice, sage and cedary oak flavors and chewy but polished tannins.” Wine Spectator

“The impressively rich, dense purple-colored 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon Madrona Vineyard exhibits a blueberry/blackberry/cassis-scented nose, with a touch of violets and subtle new oak. In the mouth, the wine has disguised its tannic clout with extraordinary extraction of fruit, medium to full body, and a silky yet powerful personality. The 1994, 1995 and 1996 possess fabulous purity and an undeniable sweet, rich, creme de cassis-like fruit character. David Abreu's mailing list should be a high priority for readers who love California Cabernet.” eRobertParker.com
