Bart and Daphne Araujo bought the Eisele Vineyard, which is situated just outside of Calistoga, in 1990, but the vineyard itself dates back to 1884. Bart and Daphne spent three decades perfecting their Bordeaux inspired wines, for which it became famous in the Napa. In fact, such was the estate’s reputation that Francois Pinault, owner of Chateau Latour, bought this jewel of an estate in 2013.

”The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Eisele Vineyard is one of the great wines of the vintage. It brings together gorgeous aromatics, juicy, expressive red fruit and silky tannins. Now seemingly past a period of closure post-bottling, the 2009 looks like a wine that will drink well pretty much throughout its entire life. The 2009 is a totally sexy Cabernet endowed with stunning depth and a rich, enveloping personality. This is pure Araujo and pure Eisele.

”One of the most extraordinary vineyards of Napa Valley is the Eisele Vineyard, which boasts a 40+ year history of producing compelling wines. It is hard to argue with the track record of this hallowed ground in the northeastern sector just southeast of the old cowboy town of Calistoga.” eRobertParker.com
