The hugely impressive and sought after wines of Bond are the brainchild of Harlan Estate’s Bill Harlan, who has signed the owners of these well-placed vineyards in selected micro-climates in Napa Valley to long (quarter of a century) contracts, all are made by the Harlan Estate winemaking team of Bob Levy and the world famous oenologist Michel Rolland.

These very small, elite properties were selected for their potential and to define the "Grand Crus" of the Napa Valley. There are now five vineyards in operation and the name Melbury is in homage to an historic area in London, where the estate owners reside much of the year.

Since its debut with the 1999 vintage, the consistent hallmarks of Melbury have been plush red fruits (currants, bing cherries), redolent with spice and the scent of violets.

”Aromas of cedarwood, barbecue spice, licorice, spring flowers, black currants and sweet kirsch jump from the glass of this dense purple-colored wine. A full-bodied texture, wonderful opulence, sweet velvety tannins and an extraordinary integration of all its component parts make for a prodigious Cabernet Sauvignon.” Robert Parker

”…all of these offerings represent world-class Cabernet Sauvignons from Napa meant to endure 30 or more years of cellaring should one have the patience to wait that long.” Robert Parker

”Wonderful aromas of sage, mint, dark berries, and carroway. Full bodied, with layers of dark berries and dark chocolate that lead up to an intense finish. They don't make wines like this anymore. Powerful and nostalgic.” James Suckling
