Gianfranco Soldera produces a wonderfully pure Brunello style. He has created an oasis of diversity through 7 hectares of woodland and an orchard, sitting beside 12 hectares of vines, whose soil is treated with respect and integrity.

One element of the Soldera story is the impact of the vandalism attack that resulted in the loss of all wine in barrel from recent vintages. Prices have soared since that event, but nonetheless you should try this wonderful Sangiovese to experience the genius of Gianfranco Soldera .

Gianfranco and daughter, Monica, cultivate under entirely organic methods, including the use of wild yeasts. Soldera vinifies the same way he has since his first harvest in 1975: the Brunello ages traditionally in large Slavonian oak for five years and then rests an additional six to twelve months in bottle before release.

"Gianfranco Soldera continue to make some of the most compelling wines in Montalcino. A visit to this estate is an absolute must for anyone who seeks to understand the essence of one of the world's greatest wines." eRobertParker.com

”Smooth and pure with warm spicy red fruits and a hint of tarriness. The palate is fresh and spicy with a bright middle and fresh, acidic, slightly metallic finish. Complex and beguiling.” Jamie Goode
