Colgin Cariad 2011 is a Californian 'Bordeaux style' blend crafted from fruit sourced from the esteemed Madrona Ranch and Thorevilos vineyard.

Colgin was founded by Ann Colgin, and since its first vintage in 1992, has rapidly become one of Napa's finest estates, specialising in complex, structured Californian classics reminiscent of top-flight Bordeaux classed growths from the left bank; crafted by winemaker Allison Tauziet and the highly renowned French consultant Alain Raynaud. Much of their produce is sold through its mailing list, for which there is a very long queue, and so we are delighted to be have secured a very small allocation of the Cariad for you to savor.

“Extremely aromatic with lead pencil and hints of currant undertone. Full body, with silky tannins and a very, very long finish. The texture is just right. This is so racy and refined with fabulous texture. I love the savory character. A wine with a solid core of fruit and super silky tannins. It is beautiful and dense yet refined.” James Suckling

“…a deep ruby/purple color along with aromas of tapenade, barbecue smoke, black currants, sweet cherries, baking spices and licorice. Medium-bodied and fleshy with delicious fruit, it showcases the endearing, upfront charm of this vintage where the wines are well-made…”Robert Parker
