Vieux Château Certan, La Gravette de Certan 2005

La Gravette de Certan 2005 is the excellent second wine of Vieux Château Certan from a great Bordeaux vintage.

Under Alexandre Thienpont, the third generation proprietor of this 14 hectare estate, Vieux Château Certan, whose neighbours include Pétrus, has established itself as one of the most famous names in Pomerol.

Alexandre is a traditionalist at heart, and still carries out fermentation in large wooden vats; and employs restricted use of new oak, although he is open to modern techniques such as crop-thinning when he feels they are beneficial to the quality of his wines.
