Hundred Acre Vineyard's Kayli Morgan Vineyard is a prime Napa Valley vineyard, selected by former vineyard manager Jim Barbour who thought it ideal for Cabernet Sauvignon. He has been proved right. Since then, the current owner, Jayson Woodbridge, brought in consulting winemaker Philippe Melka, who told him that the soil resembled that of Château Pétrus (of Bordeaux's Pomerol). The vineyard is spared hot afternoon sunlight and its soils absorb water slowly to keep the vines cool. The results are outstanding.

"It is a modern day legend…an extraordinary perfume of mulberries, black cherries, cassis, graphite, forest floor and charcoal, an astonishing texture, a full-bodied opulence and extraordinary richness and length. It is a modern day legend that tastes even younger than it did 7-10 years ago. These wines have an amazing ability to firm up and become even richer and more complex, which is exactly what great winemaking and terroir can do. Kudos to Jason Woodbridge for another sensational wine.

"The genius of Jayson Woodbridge is not in dispute. A bigger than life character, he has a certain personal flamboyance and no-prisoners-taken persona, but what he and his team do in the vineyards and winery speaks for itself. These are remarkable wines, with his Cabernet Sauvignons some of the very finest in the world, and his Pinot Noir projects all high quality and pleasing to a multitude of diverse palates."
