Mind-blowing, with masses of color, aroma and fruit flavor. Smells like fermenting berries, boasting loads of crushed grape, violet and berry character. Big, full-bodied and very sweet, with tons of tannins and a sweet finish. Anticipated maturity: 2002-2035." -- Robert Parker 97 Coming on the heels of the past 3 gems, comes this Suckling 100 point Port. Inky and opaque with scents of violets, distinct black pepper and blueberry aromas. I couldn't drink this Port, but it was certainly fun to chew on for awhile. Dark and off-dry with intense fruit, huge & hedonistic, for those that don't mind brash in-yer-face youngsters. Should drink well at the century mark. Serious tannins arrive late and took a vice grip to my tongue but left my tonsils intact. Slight heat on the finish, but the end game here goes into double overtime.
