Sorry - out of stock
Optimum drinking: 2012-2016 Rating: 97 - eRobertParker.com Grape varieties: Grenache 40%, Syrah 40%, and Mourvedre 20% Winemaker: Stephan Asseo Appellation: Paso Robles L'Aventure Côte-à-Côte 2004 is both luxuriant, thanks to the Syrah and Grenache, as well as taut, with Mourvedre holding a tight line across the palate.
French owner/winemaker Stephan Asseo’s family has wine in their blood, owning vineyards in Burgundy and Bordeaux. But after 15 years of working in France Stephan wanted to stretch his creative muscle outside of strict French winemaking regulations. He searched the world over to find the best terroir to suit his artisanal flair, finding his home in the unique soils of Paso Robles.
Here, the rolling topography of the Santa Lucia Mountain Range, the deep calcareous soils, and the maritime influence of the renowned Templeton Gap all combine to produce world-class wine country.
Think of a fruit and it's here! Violets, acacia, and anise in the nose, followed by chocolate and strawberry in the mouth. With the longest of finishes, this wine races across the palate, around the block, over the top, and beyond!
“Aromas of blackberry, minerals, violet, mint, dark chocolate and gardenia. Suave, pliant and sweet, with lovely inner-mouth perfume. Very sexy wine with excellent lift and perfectly integrated acidity. Finishes very long, with substantial tongue-dusting tannins and a lingering floral character.” Stephen Tanzer
“The opaque blue/purple 2004 Cuvee Cote a Cote offers a compelling bouquet of blueberries, graphite, acacia flowers, and cassis. Full-bodied, seamless, and multidimensional, this big, exuberant wine comes across as light on its feet…Consume this sensational 2004 over the next decade. This is a brilliant wine from a Frenchman who has captured the magic of Paso Robles.” eRobertParker.com
