Quinta do Noval 2003 comes from an outstanding Port Vintage: fresh and aromatic, balanced with powerful tannins.

Quinta do Noval is situated in the breathtakingly unspoilt and wild Douro Valley in northern Portugal: where vineyards (or quintas) cling to precipitously steep hillsides. It is the only Portuguese-owned house to have made its name to any great extent in the British and US port market.

”What a nose. Ripe fruit, with chocolate, blackberries and raisins. Full-bodied and medium sweet, with velvety tannins. Finish goes on and on. Layered and wonderful.” Wine Spectator

”…a gorgeous raisin, fig and clove-scented bouquet with more freshness than the whole of Pomerol combined. As Christian Seely quipped, “the vines are accustomed to the heat”. It unfolds in the glass, gaining vigor, if not complexity, with touches of leather, California raisin and dried flower emerging. The palate is medium-bodied with very supple tannins, dishing out lovely ripe and intense blackberry, leather, sage, tobacco and white- pepper notes.” Robert Parker
