Screaming Eagle’s Second Flight is this cult Californian wine estate's second wine, and a great introduction to this Napa Valley legend.

Screaming Eagle was established by Jean Philips in 1992, making her very first vintage in a plastic rubbish bin from fruit sourced from a gentle, west-facing slope east of the Napa River, where intense heat is tempered by cool afternoon breezes. She took a sample of her her 'homemade' wine to Robert Mondavi, they bottled it and the rest, as they say is history. It is now owned by Stanley Kroenke.

“…this vintage will be one of the best for Second Flight - flavors range from floral, herbal with notes of sandalwood, earth to dark berries and plum…” Jeannie Cho Lee MW

“Very bright and aromatic with dark purple fruits on the nose. Mint, floral and vine bark. Spearmint. Full body, very firm tannins, wonderful savoriness. Flavorful finish. A fabulous mouthfeel. Very, very long.” James Suckling

“…the wine is outstanding, very Bordeaux-like and well-made, with loads of red and black currant fruit, some licorice and underbrush as well as loamy soil notes…” Robert Parker
