Verite's La Joie 2012 was rated a perfect 100 points by Robert Parker.

Verite (French for truth) is a Sonoma County winery which describes its wines as 'Bordeaux-insipred blends' in its quest to pay homage to the finest Bordeaux wines from Pauillac and Saint-Emilion - combining old world experience and knowledge with new world Californian fruit. Each component of the blend is harvested from small vineyard blocks (micro-crus), resulting in a carefully considered convergence of grape varieties, climate, soil exposition and winemaking technique. Winemaker Pierre Seillan refers to this conjunction as droit du sol (right of the soil).

”…blew me away. A profound effort, the wine shows great minerality, oodles of creme de cassis fruit, incense, licorice, crushed rock, and a provocative full-throttle mouthfeel. A wine of great intensity, purity and equilibrium…” Robert Parker
