Aubert was established by the husband and wife team Teresa and Mark Aubert in the late 1990s, and has made giant leaps since. Mark is a career winemaker, combining his love of farming, passion for growing grapes and obsession for detail, which are evident in his 100-point Parker Chardonnay. Meanwhile, Teresa runs the business side of the business, which includes managing the Aubert wine allocations, which, as you can imagine, are very strict!

"This wine displays terrific intensity, plenty of stony minerality, and great precision in its notes of subtle white peach, pineapple, almond paste, brioche and crème brûlée. This is a killer wine and a perfect example of 2013 Chardonnay at its best. I never thought this wine could hit this peak, but the proof is in the tasting, and the wine, which was somewhat shy and reserved after bottling, has truly come to life over the last three to four months. This five-acre vineyard sits on a west-facing hill on Eastside Road in the Russian River. It sounds like a broken record, but Mark Aubert is certainly one of a handful of California’s finest practitioners of Burgundy-styled, classic California Chardonnays. He’s at the top of the pyramid for these extraordinary wines."
