Abreu Vineyard 2013 Madrona Ranch was rated 100 points by Robert Parker.

Abreu Vineyard is owned by David Abreu, a native of Napa Valley who grew up in Rutherford, California in a family with farming interests. He grew up working in vineyards, and eventually founded the Madrona Ranch vineyard back in 1982. Since his first release in 1987, Abreu's wines have quickly wone worldwide acclaim. These wine are, in our opinion, some of the greatest being produced in the Napa today. Wines of great poise, balance and finesse.

"...hits the magic three-digit score. It is literally a 30- to 45-year wine in itself. It behaves like a ripe, complex first growth Pauillac, with blackberry and crème de cassis, a touch of licorice, black truffle, pen ink and graphite. Incredibly fragrant, extremely full-bodied, with abundant tannin but also enormous fruit extract and richness, it is an amazing wine and a profound effort from Abreu and Grimes."

“……exquisite examples of Bordeaux blends that are true first growths in every sense…Is anyone anywhere in the world making more consistently profound wines than the famous viticulturalist David Abreu and his long-time sidekick and assistant, former chef Brad Grimes?” Robert Parker
