Bond’s 2016 Pluribus is a world class Cabernet with phenomenal structure and complexity made for the cellar.

The hugely impressive and highly sought after wines of Bond are the brainchild of Harlan Estate’s Bill Harlan. Bill’s philosophy since the 1990s has been to engage with the owners of exceptional small-scale vineyards selected micro-climates in Napa Valley with a shared vision of Bond’s high quality ethos, to showcase, the potential, the diversity and character of the various sites in their artisanal wines. These very small, elite properties are like the ‘Grand Crus’ of the Napa Valley. Over the years the wines have risen in prowess, are critically acclaimed and proved to be some of the best Cabernets now available in the world.

There are now five vineyards in operation and Pluribus, the Latin for ‘many’, is from a dramatic vineyard on Spring Mountain at an elevation of 1100 ft, the highest of the crus. The name encapsulates all the qualities that need to come together to produce a world class Cabernet.

“…tons of latent power and energy waiting to erupt. Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Pluribus is a little closed and youthfully mute to begin, slowly unfurling to offer glimpses at baked plums, crushed blackcurrants, boysenberries and redcurrant jelly plus suggestions of charcoal, black olives, Sichuan pepper and bay leaves with a waft of pain grille. Full-bodied, it has a rock-solid frame of very firm, ripe, grainy tannins and bold freshness supporting the muscular black fruit and savory accents, finishing with phenomenal length and loads of earthy layers.” eRobertParker.com

”…another riveting wine in this range, the 2016 Pluribus is mysterious and elusive. Each taste reveals a new dimension to its beauty. Dark red fruit, spice, tobacco, menthol and licorice give the 2016 striking perfume that is captivating. Dark and dense, with tons of fruit richness, the 2016 builds in the glass with a crescendo of aromas and flavors that add considerable nuance. I especially admire the explosive energy here. As has been the case now for the last few years, the Pluribus is at once the most complex and fascinating wine in the range because every taste seems to bring out a new facet of its personality.” Vinous

“…all of these offerings represent world-class Cabernet Sauvignons from Napa meant to endure 30 or more years of cellaring should one have the patience to wait that long.” Robert Parker
