Chateau Angelus (formerly L'Angelus) is one of the most prestigious producers in the entire Saint-Emilion district – a name synonymous with crafting voluptuous wines.

As a testament to its quality, the 1996 vintage saw its elevation from Grand Cru to Premier Grand Cru (B) status (in the 1955 Saint-Emilion classification: a rare and highly commendable honour only bestowed upon a handful of estates that have made considerable progress since the classification's inception); and in 2012 it was further upgraded to the highest Saint-Emilion ranking of Premier Grand Cru (A) status.

"Approaching perfection, this wine is inky, bluish/purple-colored to the rim, offering up notes of incense, blueberry and blackberry liqueur, licorice, graphite and spring flowers. A touch of roasted espresso bean is also present. The wine has great concentration, a magnificent, full-bodied mouthfeel, stunning purity, and well-integrated acidity, tannin, alcohol and wood.

"What can you say about Hubert de Bouard and Angelus? Each year they seem to turn out one great wine after another." Robert Parker
