Colgin Estate IX Proprietary Red 2010 is one of Napa Valley's finest reds (rated a perfect 100 points by Robert Parker) combining structure and power with fruit purity and finesse - a wine for the long-haul, with plenty of development to come in bottle.

Colgin was founded by Ann Colgin, and since its first vintage in 1992, has rapidly become one of Napa's finest estates, specialising in complex, structured Californian classics reminiscent of top-flight Bordeaux classed growths from the left bank; crafted by winemaker Allison Tauziet and the highly renowned French consultant Alain Raynaud. Much of their produce is sold through its mailing list, for which there is a very long queue, and so we are delighted to be have secured a very small allocation of their flagship red for you to savor.

“The 2010 IX Estate is another perfect wine. Its opaque purple color is accompanied by copious aromas of blueberries, cassis, pen ink, asphalt, licorice and subtle oak. Full-bodied and rich but light on its feet…spectacular effort…"

"Pleasing for its richness, elegance and finesse, this graceful red presents a delicate mix of dark berry, licorice, light cedar and loamy earth, gliding along on the finish, where the wine is amazingly polished. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot." Wine Spectator
