David Arthur Vineyards's Cabernet Elevation 1147 2009 was rated a near perfect 99 points by the Wine Enthusiast.

David Arthur's Cabernet Elevation 1147 is the ultimate expression of Cabernet Sauvignon from the estate's vineyard, situated, as the name suggests, at good altitude, which produces single-varietal Cabernet Sauvignon of power and finesse, structure and elegance, extraction and grace.

"...an ageless beauty. Its opaque ruby/purple color is followed by sweet cassis notes intermixed with graphite, charcoal, truffles and earth. Full-bodied, opulent, rich and dense, it is still extremely young, but is loaded with potential. It reveals an underlying minerality as well as a floral component (often noticeable in wines produced from these high elevation vineyards on Pritchard Hill), as well as stunning texture and length. A sensational wine.” Robert Parker

"There are incredible aromatics on this Cabernet. It's powerful yet subtle (how can that be?), all about sweet, crushed summer blackberries and pure cassis liqueur. Elaborate oak, in the form of buttered toast, is perfectly in balance, never overshadowing the fruit. The tannins are dry, rich and smooth, defining Napa elegance, grace and beauty. World class, dramatic and just about perfect, this gets better and better as it breathes in the glass." Wine Enthusiast

"I was deeply impressed with the wines I tasted at David Arthur this year. Winemaker Nile Zacherle has done a brilliant job with these new and upcoming releases. The David Arthur style is all about richness without excess heaviness. Dark red berries, earthiness, licorice and smoke add complexity as the wine opens up in the glass. Firm tannins support the intense, powerful finish.” Robert Parker
