Fonseca’s 1994 Vintage Port was Wine Spectator's Wine of the Year in 1997. Rich and full-bodied Fonseca is one of the finest Ports from one of the greatest Port vintages of the latter half of the 20th century. The vintage was universally declared; producing wines of wonderfully ripe fruit with superb aging potential.

Fonseca's house style is one of richness and warmth, and lush fruit intensity. While Fonseca may lack the power of Taylor's and Warre's port houses, and the opulence of Graham's, it is without doubt the most voluptuous, exotic and complex of port styles.

”Mind-blowing, with masses of color, aroma and fruit flavor. Smells like fermenting berries, boasting loads of crushed grape, violet and berry character. Big, full-bodied and very sweet, with tons of tannins and a sweet finish.” Wine Spectator

“Extremely fragrant and pungent, with a flashy display of jammy cassis, pepper, licorice, and truffles, this port is an attention-grabber. Awesomely rich, and full-bodied, with superb length, richness, and overall balance...”
