Penfold's Bin 707 Cabernet Sauvignon is a wonderful Australian Bordeaux-inspired red from the Barossa Valley. The Bin 707 style combines intense varietal definition with new American oak to produce wines of great richness, harmony and concentration. Penfolds wine estate was founded by an English doctor (Dr Christopher Rawson Penfold), who migrated to South Australia in the mid-19th Century. Penfold had a firm belief in the medicinal value of port and sherry and began making fortified wine for his parents.

”One of the best vintages of 707 yet produced, this is an extravagant, tobacco-scented cabernet. The texture is luscious, saturated with red and black currant flavors, embroidered with mineral tannins that last. Blended from vineyards in Coonawarra, McLaren Vale and Barossa, this includes a component from Penfolds' ancient cabernet vines at Kalimna.” James Halliday

"…it exhibits a classic Cabernet nose of cedar, tobacco, spice box, black currant, and blackberry liqueur. Medium-bodied (13.5% alcohol) but dense and concentrated, with tons of black fruit flavor, the wine is tightly knit, structured, beautifully balanced…"

"Penfolds, arguably Australia’s most famous winery, continues to perform at a high level under the leadership of Head Winemaker, Peter Gago." Robert Parker
