Sine Qua Non Labels Syrah 2007 is drinking beautifully now, with more promise in the bottle to come.

Sine Qua Non is pioneering cult Californian estate established by Manfred Krankl, whose incredibly hard to come by wines have a reputation as being works of art both inside and on the outside of the bottles (with his eclectically named and designed labels). In fact, some collectors actually buy these incredibly scarce wines, of which are sometimes just a few barrels are made, for the labels alone.

"A sensational effort, it is performing even better out of bottle than it did from barrel. An opaque purple color is accompanied by beautiful notes of charcoal, acacia flowers, blueberries, blackberries, graphite, and subtle smoke. With great fruit, tremendous texture, and full-bodied power, it is locked and loaded. This cuvee should provide great drinking in addition to some provocative discussions over the next 10-15 years.

"Krankl's fame rests on the strength of his wines - compelling, singular, and world-class wines that are like no others being produced on Planet Earth." Robert Parker
